Subsidies for fertilizer have for decades been a popular development policy in Sub-Saharan Africa. More recently, there have been increased interest in savings interventions in developing countries through formal savings or complement informal savings, and by savings "match" programs. The learning opportunity is understanding the complementary aspects between these two types of interventions.
This presentation is based on AMA Innovation Lab projects for the 2013 BASIS/I4 Technical Committee Meeting. This meeting gathered researchers affiliated with the Index Insurance Innovation Initiative (I4) at UC Davis.
